At The Petaway, we take great care in ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all our furry guests. After the assessment process, dogs are carefully separated into daycare rooms based on several factors, including size, temperament, and energy levels. Our experienced staff members closely observe each dog's behaviour during the assessment to determine the best group dynamic for them. This thoughtful grouping allows us to create compatible playgroups, promoting positive social interactions and minimizing any potential conflicts. Your pet's well-being and happiness are our top priorities, and our careful room separation process helps us achieve that.
At The Petaway, we understand the importance of having a well-trained and knowledgeable staff to provide the best care for your beloved pets. Our staff members undergo comprehensive training programs that cover various aspects of pet care, including behavior management, safety protocols, first aid, and customer service. We ensure that our team stays up-to-date with the latest industry practices and standards through regular training sessions and continuous professional development. This dedication to training equips our staff with the skills and expertise needed to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for your furry friends.
At The Petaway, the safety and well-being of all our guests is our utmost priority. In the event of a dog fight, our trained staff members are immediately alerted and trained to respond swiftly and effectively. They are equipped with the knowledge and tools to safely and efficiently intervene, using proven techniques to separate the dogs involved. We also have strict safety precautions in place, including closely monitoring playgroups, maintaining appropriate staff-to-dog ratios, and conducting thorough behavioural assessments to ensure compatibility. Our commitment to safety extends to regular staff training on dog behaviour and body language, allowing us to proactively prevent conflicts and create a secure environment for all our furry guests.
Currently, The Petaway does not have an outdoor space at our facility. However, we understand the importance of outdoor time for dogs and their need for fresh air and exercise. While we do not have an outdoor space, we are pleased to offer complimentary walks for dogs who stay for a full day of daycare. Our trained staff members take them on enjoyable walks in nearby designated areas to ensure they receive the physical activity they need. We are actively planning to expand our facility in the near future, and part of our expansion includes the addition of an outdoor space where dogs can safely play and explore to their heart's content. We are committed to continuously improving our services and providing the best possible experience for your furry friends.
At The Petaway, we prioritize the safety and well-being of all our furry guests. Our 3.5 hour assessment process is designed to evaluate each dog's behaviour, temperament, and social skills to determine their suitability for daycare. During the assessment, our trained staff members carefully observe the dog's interactions with humans and other dogs, gauging their comfort level, play style, and ability to follow instructions. This process helps us understand their individual needs and preferences, allowing us to create compatible playgroups for a positive and enriching daycare experience. The assessment process ensures that all dogs in our care can thrive in a social environment and enjoy their time at The Petaway.
At The Petaway, we prioritize the health and safety of all our furry guests. To ensure a safe environment for everyone, we require certain vaccinations for dogs attending daycare. We ask that all dogs have up-to-date vaccinations for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella (kennel cough). These vaccinations are important to prevent the spread of contagious diseases and protect the well-being of all dogs in our care. Proof of vaccination from a licensed veterinarian is required before a dog can join our daycare program. This vaccination requirement helps us maintain a healthy and secure environment for all pets at The Petaway.
